DON'T: Overspend on Clarity You Cannot See
- The difference between VVS2 and VS2 is invisible without 10x magnification. You are paying a premium for characteristics no one will ever notice
- VS2 is eye-clean in the vast majority of diamonds. Save the clarity premium and invest it in better cut or larger size
DO: Set a Budget Before You Start Shopping
- Decide what you can comfortably afford before looking at rings. The industry is designed to make you spend more than planned

DO: Consider Lab-Grown Diamonds

- No gemologist, jeweler, or observer can distinguish a lab-grown diamond from mined by looking at it
